Texas is just 2.5 games out of the third and final Wild Card spot. The Kansas City Royals are the only one ahead of them in that chase. The Athletics are trying to avoid this sweep right after they swept the mighty Detroit Tigers in their last series. The Athletics will need a way to find a way to generate more offense in this series, since their bats have been relatively quiet in the first two games.

The Athletics will try to avoid the sweep by starting J.T. Ginn, who is 2-5 with a 4.96 ERA. It’s going to be an uphill battle though for the A’s, as Texas is starting Jacob deGrom in the finale. The veteran righty is looking like his vintage self with a 10-6 record with a 2.79 ERA.
