While the Rangers lost their winning streak on Tuesday, they’ve still gained a good bit of ground over the last few weeks. On top of winning six in a row heading into Tuesday, they’d won nine of their previous 10. That took them from 12 games under .500 to now four games over and powered them back into the American League Wild Card race. They enter Wednesday the first team out of a Wild Card spot, 1.5 games behind the Seattle Mariners.

Righty Jack Leiter will head to the mound trying to get the Rangers back in the win column on Wednesday. Leiter is 9-7 with a 3.77 ERA in 24 starts this year. He’ll be opposed by Diamondbacks righty Zac Gallen, who threw six scoreless innings in his last outing and has an ERA of 3.07 over his last seven starts.
