Evan Carter probably had the best performance at the plate of anyone on Texas. He went 3-for-5 with four runs, a home run, and three RBIs. Catcher Kyle Higashioka went 2-for-5 with five RBIs, while Josh Jung went 2-for-5 with four RBIs. Three other players finished with at least one run batted in, led by Adolis Garcia’s two.

Jack Leiter will head to the mound to start this game for Texas. The right-hander is looking for his fifth win of the season, going into this start at 4-2. He has a 3.48 ERA and 42 strikeouts over 51.2 innings. After a scoreless start against the St. Louis Cardinals he gave up one earned run on three hits with six strikeouts across five innings in his last start.

Minnesota will start the second game of the series with David Festa on the mound. The right-hander is 0-1 in his 2025 campaign with a 5.40 ERA and 21 strikeouts over 16.2 innings. Festa has started four games this season and after going scoreless in his first two starts he allowed two earned runs against the Chicago White Sox and eight earned runs over 3.2 innings in his last start.
