The Tampa Bay Rays will pay a visit to the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday as spring training play continues.

The Tampa Bay Rays will travel to BayCare Ballpark on Thursday afternoon for a game against the Philadelphia Phillies as the teams continue to prepare for Opening Day which is just weeks away. The Phillies have struggled over the last few games and are on a three-game losing streak. The team has been outscored 34-14 over those three games with the most recent being a big 17-7 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday afternoon. Johan Rojas homered on his only hit of the day to bring Robert Moore and Ethan Wilson home, leading the team with three RBI. Buddy Kennedy also hit a homer in the sixth, bringing home Kody Clemens. Jesús Luzardo was credited with the loss on the mound after giving up six earned runs in two innings, but the majority of the Philadelphia pitching staff had a tough time against the Tigers and will look to bounce back Thursday.

The Rays’ most recent game was played against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday and the team suffered a 4-2 loss which broke a three-game undefeated streak. Mike Vasil was credited with the loss on the mound after giving up two earned runs in two innings, but he also struck out two batters. Bob Seymour and Eloy Jiménez each recored an RBI in the loss with Jiménez singling to bring home Seymour in the fifth and Seymour grounding out to bring home Jonathan Aranda in the sixth.

The Phillies and Rays have already met once during spring training and Philly was able to pick up a 5-4 win in one of the first few games down in Florida.
