Last year the Yankees won the division and led the American League with a 94-68 record. They went on to reach the World Series, where they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As the Yankees try to get back to the postseason, they’ll do so with a new-look roster. In the biggest move of the MLB offseason the Yankees lost outfielder Juan Soto in free agency when he signed with the cross-town rival New York Mets. They also lost first baseman Anthony Rizzo and outfielder Alex Verdugo.

There was an influx of talent in New York as well. Free agent signings and trade acquisitions include outfielder Cody Bellinger, first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, and pitchers Max Fried and Devin Williams.

The Rays enter spring training trying to bounce back after their first losing season since 2017 and their first time missing the playoffs since 2018. They were 80-82 last season.
