The first game of this series was a back-and-forth affair. It started with the Red Sox scoring three runs in the top of the first inning, only for the Angels to respond with five of their own in the bottom half. The game was tied heading into the bottom of the eighth, when the Angels plated four runs to lock up a 9-5 win.

Tuesday’s game was lower scoring, but still close. The Red Sox led 1-0 most of the night, but in the eighth inning second baseman Christian Moore – batting ninth in the order – hit a solo shot that tied the game and forced extra innings. After the Red Sox got one run in the top of the 10th, Moore batted again, hitting a two-run home run just over the defining line in right field to walk things off.
