    Hunter Dobbins will head to the mound to start this game for Boston. The right-hander is looking for his fifth win of the season, going into this start at 4-1. He has a 3.74 ERA and 42 strikeouts over 55.1 innings. Dobbins threw a scoreless 6.0 innings in his last start, allowing just two hits with five strikeouts against the New York Yankees.

    San Francisco will open up this series with Hayden Birdsong taking the mound. The right-hander is 3-1 in his 2025 campaign with a 2.79 ERA and 51 strikeouts through 48.1 innings. Birdsong gave up three earned runs on six hits across 6.0 innings while striking out six batters in his last start, which ended in an 8-7 loss to the Colorado Rockies.
