José Ramírez padded Cleveland’s lead with an eighth-inning home run and the Guardians cruised to a 4-1 victory on Tuesday night. The game was scoreless into the seventh and Cleveland took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the frame. Boston’s lone run came on Wilyer Abreu’s solo shot in the seventh that broke a scoreless tie. Backup catcher Connor Wong paces the team with a .320/.327/.520 slash line, Tyler O’Neill has seven home runs and three players — Reese McGuire, Masataka Yoshida and the injured Casas — share the team lead with 10 RBIs.

Veteran right-hander Carlos Carrasco (1-1) takes the mound on Wednesday for the Guardians. In four starts and 18.1 innings, Carrasco has authored a 3.44 ERA and 1.527 WHIP. The Red Sox give the ball to right-hander Cooper Criswell (0-1). In a start and a relief appearance covering 6.1 innings, Criswell has surrendered six runs, three earned, on eight hits.
