The Texas Rangers begin their regular season at home on Thursday afternoon when they host the Boston Red Sox. The Rangers, who won their first World Series in 2023, are looking to get back to the playoffs after they missed out in 2024. The Rangers will play their first four games at home, but play nine of their first 16 on the road. Thursday they will send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound. Eovaldi will be pitching against his former team as he pitched for five seasons with the Boston Red Sox. This will be his third season with the Rangers and he has won 12 games in each of his first two seasons in Texas. Last season he went 12-8 with a 3.80 ERA and 166 strikeouts. In 2023 he went 12-5 with a 3.36 ERA. Thursday he will look to start of the season on a high note and shut down Boston.
