Tanner Houck will take the mound for Boston to open this series on the road. The right-hander is winless this season with a 0-2 record and a 6.10 ERA. He has 32 strikeouts through 41.1 innings pitched. Houck gave up two earned runs in his last start over 4.2 innings against the Texas Rangers. He struck out just two batters in the process.
Detroit will open up the first inning on defense with Jackson Jobe on the mound. The right-hander is undefeated in his 2025 campaign with a 2-0 record and a 4.88 ERA. He has 20 strikeouts over a season-total of 27.2 innings. Jobe struck out a season-low two batters in his last start, allowing a season-high six earned runs on eight hits over a season-low just 3.2 innings.
