The Cincinnati Reds and Seattle Mariners play Game 2 of their series on Tuesday.

The Seattle Mariners (7-10) kicked off this series with the Cincinnati Reds (9-7) with a strong win and look to make it two straight on Tuesday. In the first game of the series Seattle had its bats working, scoring multiple runs in three different innings to wear down Cincinnati in the win. Jorge Polanco got the scoring started with his third home run of the season, bringing home the first three runs of the game. The rest of the offense followed in line with a Mitch Haniger two-run home run and runs brought in on a single, a double, a triple and a sacrifice fly to run up the score.

Cincinnati was only able to score one run at a time, starting with a Jeimer Candelario home run, a Jake Fraley double and then a Fraley home run, his first of the season. The offense was never able to build momentum or stop the Seattle offense from driving in run after run in the first game of the series.

On the mound in Game 2 for Seattle to try and pick up the series win is right-handed pitcher Logan Gilbert (0-0). In three starts Gilbert has pitched 20.1 total innings, allowing just six total runs. He hasn’t earned a win, but has been solid to start the season with 23 strikeouts.

For Cincinnati, it has Hunter Greene (0-1) on the mound in his fourth start of the season. In his first three starts Greene has allowed nine total earned runs and 22 strikeouts in 16.2 total innings pitched. He is still in search of his first win of the season.
