On Sunday the Cincinnati Reds (11-11) put together one of the best offensive performances so far early on in this 2025 MLB season. In a series finale rubber match on the road against the Baltimore Orioles the Reds put up a football score, taking the game 24-2. It was the most runs the Reds have scored in a game since 1999. They’ll try to keep that momentum going on Monday, when they visit the Miami Marlins (9-12) at loanDepot Park to begin a three game series.

In that game on Sunday the Reds recorded 25 hits, and drew 11 walks. In particular, the hitters at the bottom of the order were impressive. Third baseman Noelvi Marte and catcher Austin Wynns hit eighth and ninth respectively in that game and went a combined 11-for-14. They were responsible for 13 of the team’s 23 RBIs, and each player hit a home run.

With that win, the Reds got back to .500. Cincinnati has now won eight of its last 12 games.

The Marlins also won on Sunday. They were at Citizens Bank Park and took the Philadelphia Phillies to extra innings, before winning the game 7-5 in the 10th. That win stopped a five game losing streak for Miami.
