The Orioles go for their third straight win on Friday night when they host the Reds

The Baltimore Orioles welcome the Cincinnati Reds to town on Friday night for the first of a three-game series. The Orioles come into Friday night on a two-game winning streak and it has pushed their record to 8-10 on the season. They took two of three from the Cleveland Guardians for their first series win of the season and it is also the first time all year they have won two games in a row. Friday night they will look to extend that winning streak when they send Cade Povich to the mound in the series opener. Povich comes into Friday night 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA. He hasn’t pitched poorly, but he has given up a lot of hits. He gave up 12 hits and four runs to the Kansas City Royals and then in his last start he gave up seven hits and two runs against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Orioles have lost his last two starts and are looking to snap that streak on Friday.

The Reds, though, are hoping to extend that streak as they try and snap a two-game losing streak.

The Reds had won three in a row and five of six, but they lost the last two games of their series with the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday and Thursday.

The consecutive losses has dropped them to 9-10 and has them in fourth place in the NL Central, two games back of the first place Chicago Cubs.

Friday they will start Andrew Abbott on the mound as they try and win the opener. Abbott comes into Friday 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA. This will be just his second start of the year after he went five innings of one-run ball against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday.
