The Colorado Rockies hope getting back home shifts their fortunes when they start this three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Colorado Rockies host the Cincinnati Reds for their first series against one another this season starting Friday night. The Rockies just can’t catch a break as they’ve lost four of their last five and are trying to avoid losing four in a row tonight. The outlook is much bleaker than that though as they have only won four games on the season for the worst record in the league. Only one of those wins has come on the road. At least they will get back home tonight but the Reds will be the -135 favorites to get back to .500 tonight.

The Rockies are coming off the wrong side of a series sweep against the Kansas City Royals. After an 11 inning loss in the series opener, the rest of the series wasn’t really close. The Rockies lost both games of a double header on Thursday after the opener was originally postponed. The first game ended in a 7-4 final with the Rockies scoring all four of their runs in the first three innings but couldn’t keep it rolling. Then Colorado lost 6-2 on Thursday night with the Rockies not scoring until the sixth inning despite matching the Royals in hits. Colorado native Kyle Freeland will be tasked with turning this around as he gets the start today. Freeland is looking for his first win of the season with a 0-4 record and a 4.85 ERA.

The Reds avoided getting swept in their last game by beating the Miami Marlins 5-2 on Wednesday in the series finale. Austin Wynns was a triple shy of the cycle and Brady Singer went six innings while only giving up two runs and striking out eight. Singer outbattled former Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara to improve to 4-0 on the season. Andrew Abbott will try to follow that formula getting the start tonight. He’s been great so far to start the season as well with a 2-0 record and a 1.64 ERA.
