The Cincinnati Reds are looking for an Interleague sweep of the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night in what should be a heavyweight pitching matchup in the series finale.

With two games down and one to go, the Cincinnati Reds (28-28) try to pick up their fourth sweep of the 2025 season on Wednesday. They’re also trying to move back over .500, as they take on the Kansas City Royals (29-27) in the final game of a three-game series at Kauffman Stadium. The Reds won the first two games with strong offensive performances – a 7-4 win on Monday, followed by a 7-2 win on Tuesday. In total the Reds have scored at least six runs in each of their last five games, going 3-2 in that stretch. In total the Reds have scored the eighth-most runs in baseball this year heading into play on Wednesday.

Trying to hold that Reds offense at bay for the Royals on Wednesday will be rookie Noah Cameron. The 25-year-old, a seventh-round pick in 2021, has been excellent over his first three MLB starts since being called up in late April. He has a 0.93 ERA and 0.67 WHIP in 19.1 innings. Last time out against the Twins on Friday he threw 6.2 innings, allowing just four hits and one run, while striking out a career-high eight batters.

The Reds will also be throwing out one of their top starters. Hunter Greene, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 draft, will get the ball for Cincinnati. The righty is 4-2 in nine starts this year with a 2.54 ERA and 0.85 WHIP. Greene has been efficient at piling up strikeouts, with 63 in 49.2 innings pitched this year.
