    On Sunday, Austin Gomber and the Rockies will close out a three-game series against Chris Sale and the Braves.

    The Colorado Rockies will finish up this weekend on the road in Atlanta, Georgia, closing out a three-game series at Truist Park against the Atlanta Braves. The Braves lead this series two games to none going into the final game and lead the season series 4-1. Enyel De Los Santos picked up the win in the first game, which Atlanta won 12-4. The Rockies were up 4-1 going into the sixth inning and Atlanta scored 11 runs in the last three innings. Marcell Ozuna and Michael Harris III both homered in the win and combined for seven RBIs. Matt Olson also had a three-RBI night.

    Saturday’s win was more reasonable, Atlanta taking the game 4-1. Spencer Strider won his first game of the season, throwing 6.0 scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts. Ronald Acuña Jr went 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs, a home run, and two RBIs. Austin Riley and Olson had the other two RBIs on the night for Atlanta.

    Austin Gomber will head to the mound to start this game for Colorado. The left-hander is making his first start of the season after being activated from the 60-day disabled list for this start. He will enter his fifth season with Colorado after starting 30 games last year and going 5-12 with a 4.75 ERA. He has 116 strikeouts over 165.0 innings — all career-highs.

    Atlanta will close out this series with Chris Sale taking the mound. The left-hander is 4-4 in his 2025 campaign with a 2.79 ERA and 107 strikeouts over 80.2 innings. Sale ranked No. 3 in the MLB in total strikeouts and No. 18 in lowest ERA. He has struck out 21 batters and allowed just two earned runs over his last two outings, 13.0 total innings.
