The San Diego Padres host the Colorado Rockies for the first time this season on Friday night. Watch the game for free on Fubo.

The San Diego Padres look to stay perfect at home when they host the Colorado Rockies for the first series between these NL West rivals on Friday. The Padres are 10-3 overall and 7-0 at Petco Park. The Padres will be heavily favored all weekend with the Rockies just 3-9 to start the season and are just 1-5 on the road. The Padres are going for their fourth win in their last five games tonight and come back home for a six-game road trip. After starting the season 7-0, San Diego lost its first series of the season against the Chicago Cubs but bounced back nicely on the road in Sacramento to beat the A’s two out of three games. Expect more of the same against the Rockies.

The Padres are coming off a close 2-1 win over the Athletics on Wednesday to win the rubber match after getting beat 10-4 in Game 2. The pitching really settled down thanks to Randy Vasquez who got the victory going five innings while only giving up one hit and one run to get his first win of the season. Xander Bogaerts was the MVP on the other side of the plate collecting three hits and he scored both of the Padres’ runs to help win the only series against the A’s this season. Kyle Hart will get the start for San Diego in the opener tonight. The lefty is 1-0 but only went .2 innings in his last start against the Cubs giving up five runs in what turned out to be a no-decision.

The Rockies looked like they were on the verge of getting swept at the hands of the Brewers but showed some resilience in the finale winning 7-2. This game on Thursday was much closer than the final score indicates. The Rockies won after losing Game 2 by a 17-2 final. Colorado was tied in the eighth on Thursday 2-2 went they went on a run of their own scoring five in the bottom of the inning. Brenton Doyle was clutch at the plate tying a career-high collecting five RBIs on the afternoon including a leadoff homer in the first inning. He had a go-ahead RBI single in the seventh and a bases-clearing double in the eighth to blow the game open and avoid the sweep. The Rockies will start Chase Dollander who made his first career start in his last appearance in a 12-5 win against the A’s. He got the win going five innings and giving up four runs.
