The Phillies opened up the season against the Washington Nationals and made it out of the series with a victory. Philadelphia picked up a 7-3 win in the first game and an 11-6 win in the second, but fell 5-1 in the finale on Sunday. The team’s lone run came from the bat of Rafael Marchan with a foreceout in the top of the ninth to bring home Edmundo Sosa. With the Nationals already leading 5-0, it simply wasn’t enough to produce a rally and pull off the comeback. The loss went to Aaron Nola on the mound after giving up five earned runs in 5.1 innings with eight strikeouts.

Fans can expect to see Germán Márquez taking the bump for the Rockies while Cristopher Sánchez will get the nod for the Phillies. Tune in on Monday to see how the teams fair following their respective losses on Sunday.
