After snapping eight-game losing skid, the Rockies look for first winning streak in over two weeks as their series begins against the Rangers
Returning home following a series win at Detroit, the Texas Rangers open their seven-game home stand inside Globe Life Field on Monday night as they welcome the Colorado Rockies into Arlington for the first game of their three-game midweek interleague series. The Rockies, a day after the firing of manager Bud Black, own the worst record in Major League Baseball winning just seven of their first 40 games and have not won or split a series this season as they turn to rookie right-hander Chase Hollander (2-3, 7.71 ERA) in search of just their second two-game winning streak of the year.

Veteran right hander Tyler Mahle (3-1, 1.48 ERA) will be on the mound for Texas in search of his first win in his last four starts despite allowing just five earned runs in that span, being victimized by a lack of run support as the Rangers have scored just six runs in his last four outings. Mahle, in his second season with the Rangers, ranks second in MLB in ERA after battling shoulder and elbow issues that caused him to miss all but 12 games since the end of the 2022 season. A 13-game winner with Cincinnati in 2021, Mahle was dealt to Minnesota at the deadline the following season and has won just 10 games since that breakout campaign.
Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman leads the team in total bases this season and comes into Monday with at least one hit in 22 of his last 25 games including each of the last four after a 3-for-5 performance in Sunday’s 9-3 home win over San Diego.
Colorado has won four games in a row against Texas dating back to May of 2023 sweeping the Rangers in a three-game series in Denver last season.
