After sweeping a rivalry series with some masterful pitching performances, the San Francisco Giants return to action on Monday night hosting the Kansas City Royals.
The inaugural Rivalry Weekend was a good one for the San Francisco Giants (28-19). They swept their former Bay Area foe – the Athletics in a three game series at Oracle Park. The Giants’ pitching staff was excellent in that series, with wins of 9-1, 1-0 (10 innings) and then 3-2 on Sunday. After allowing those three runs in three games, the Giants’ team ERA is now 3.36, which ranks fifth in the National League and 10th in all of baseball. That staff will look to keep it up, as the Giants begin a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals on Monday night.
