The Tigers are just over the .500 mark heading into this weekend, with a 10-8 record and sitting on top of the AL Central. They lost their last series, too, two games to one against the Milwaukee Brewers. Spencer Torkelson has been on fire this season with the bat. He had six home runs and 13 RBIs, leading the team in both categories in 66 at-bats.

Michael Lorenzen will start the game for Kansas City in the opening game of this series. The right-hander is 1-2 this season with a 3.71 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 17.0 innings. He gave up three earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in 5.2 innings in his last start against the Cleveland Guardians on the road, which ended in a 6-3 loss.

Detroit will head back out onto their home field with Jackson Jobe making his third start of the season. The right-handed starting pitcher is 1-0 this year with a 3.00 ERA and nine strikeouts in 15.0 innings. He dominated in his last start against the Minnesota Twins with 6.0 scoreless innings, conceding just two hits with two strikeouts.
