As winners of 14 of their last 16 games including a recent 13-game winning streak, the Minnesota Twins begin a three-game series vs. the Kansas City Royals on Friday night.

The Twins are one of the hottest teams in the majors with wins in 14 of their last 16 games and a major league-best 13-game winning streak earlier this month. However, Minnesota is still 5.5 games behind Detroit in the AL Central race at 27-22 this season. The Twins are an outstanding 16-7 at home as they welcome the Royals. Kansas City is 28-23 with just a 11-14 road record and a 4-6 record in its last 10 games. The Twins will send righty Pablo Lopez to the mound against Royals lefty Noah Cameron in the series opener.
