For nearly 90 percent of Game 2 we were treated to a pitcher’s duel. The Angels actually scored the first run on Friday on a Zach Neto homer in the first inning. But LA couldn’t score again. That didn’t seem like a problem for awhile as Detroit didn’t score until the seventh inning Trey Sweeney homer. But the ninth inning is where it all collapsed for the Angels. Kenley Jansen had trouble doing much of anything to get out of the inning going just .2 innings while giving up six runs off six hits and giving up three homers.

Jansen gave up back-to-back homers to Riley Greene and Colt Keith to start the inning. He would later give up another bomb to Javy Baez on a two-run shot. Jake Eder came into the game but that didn’t help matters much as he also gave up a homer to Greene which was a three-run shot. The Angels went quietly in the bottom of the ninth. LA will hope for better pitching when they start Kyle Hendricks who is 0-3 with a 6.65 ERA. The Tigers will counter with Jack Flaherty who is 1-3 but has a 3.34 ERA.
