The Astors offense has looked great in the past couple of games and that was certainly the case on Monday putting up eight runs on 10 hits in the opener. Jose Altuve and first baseman Christian Walker played a huge part in that offensive onslaught with both players hitting a two-run homer. Things were looking good for the Tigers to start scoring the first three runs of the game but Houston scored eight straight before Detroit scored two more in the eighth on a homer from Riley Greene.

Both pitching units hope to turn it around tonight with Ryan Gusto starting for the home team. The righty is 3-1 with a 2.78 ERA after only giving up one run on three hits in 5.2 innings in a win against the Toronto Blue Jays. Reese Olson will start for Detroit and he also has a 3-1 record along with a 3.29 ERA. He pitched even better in his last start not giving up a run in a win against the NL West stout San Diego Padres in seven innings. Expect something much closer to a pitcher’s duel tonight.
