Matt Manning and the Detroit Tigers will take the mound against Jordan Montgomery and the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.
The Detroit Tigers will stay on the road and take the field at Chase Field for the third and final time of this three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers lead the series two games to none after winning on both Friday and Saturday. They took the first game in a massive shutout 13-0. Tarik Skubal won game No. 6 of the season and stayed undefeated on the mound. He pitched 6.0 innings with six strikeouts. Shockingly, there were no home runs for Detroit in the win either, just a ton of RBIs. Javier Baez had five RBIs batting 3-for-4 while Kerry Carpenter went 2-for-5 on the night with four RBIs as well. Last night, they took the win 8-3 with Jack Flaherty picking up his first win of the season. He allowed two earned runs over 6.0 innings with nine strikeouts. This time it was Wenceel Perez who had the hot hand finishing with four of the eight total RBIs on the night after batting two-for-four. The Diamondbacks will look to avoid getting swept here today.
