Houston dominated the first game on Friday thanks to Jose Altuve and rookie Jacob Melton doing his best Altuve impression. Both Altuve and Melton both drove in three runs to win the opener easily. The Astros scored in each of the first four innings and never looked back. After the fourth inning, Houston was up 9-1. The Astros made Chris Paddack squirm from the very beginning as the Twins pitcher game up 12 hits and eight runs before being pulled after four innings. Colton Gordon pitched solidly for the Astros going six innings while only giving up two runs.

The Astros will try to channel that energy on the mound again by starting Hunter Brown who is have an outstanding season with a 8-3 record with an unbelievable 1.82 ERA. Joe Ryan will go for the Twins and he will be a very worthy counterpart with the righty going 7-2 with a 2.96 ERA. Looks like we are in for a great pitcher’s duel for Game 2.
