The Minnesota Twins will finish up this weekend on the road in Houston, Texas, closing out a three-game series at Daikin Park against the Houston Astros. The hometown Astros won both the first two games of the series and now lead the season series four games to one. They won in dominant fashion in the first game on Friday, 10-3. Colton Gordon won game No. 2 on the season for himself, throwing 6.0 innings with two earned runs and five strikeouts. Jose Altuve provided the big jolt of offense with a home run and three RBIs. Jacob Melton also had three RBIs in the win.

On Saturday, Houston came away with a 3-2 win on the back of one inning from Josh Hader, who was credited with the win. Houston scored two runs in the third inning on a two-run homer from Yanier Diaz. Minnesota tied the game with a two-run homer in the fifth inning, before Cam Smith walked off in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI single.

Simeon Woods-Richardson will head to the mound to start this game for Minnesota. The right-hander is looking for his third win of the season, going into this start at 2-3. He has a 5.74 ERA and 39 strikeouts over 42.1 innings. Woods-Richardson has been rocky over his last couple of starts. In his last two outings combined, he has given up 12 earned runs on 15 hits with eight strikeouts over 8.2 innings.

Houston will close out this series with Brandon Walter taking the mound. The left-handed relief pitcher will make his third start of the season. He opened up this year against the Tampa Bay Rays, going 5.0 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. In his last start, he gave up two earned runs with five strikeouts over 6.0 innings against the Cleveland Guardians. Both games ended in losses, though he wasn’t credited with either.
