The Minnesota Twins look to bounce back from a loss in the opener to tie this series against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday.

The Atlanta Braves go for the season series win against the Minnesota Twins in Game 2 of this series on Saturday night. This is the only series of the season between these two interleague opponents. The Braves have one less win than the Twins but they are the big favorite tonight with a -215 line in their favor. Minnesota is just 3-8 on the road this season. But neither of these teams have had the start they anticipated. Since 2021 when they won the World Series, the Braves have yet to win another playoff series but making it back to the playoffs seemed like a no-brainer. They still have a lot of work to do though to catch back up to the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies as they sit in last place in the NL East heading into this matchup.

The Braves got a good start reversing that trend on Friday beating the Twins 6-4 in the opener and avoiding losing three in a row after a series loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. Michael Harris II collected two hits and two RBIs to lead the offense. Drake Baldwin played heroics in the late innings grabbing a pinch-hit single in the eighth that drove in the go-ahead run. It looked like smooth sailing for the Twins in the early going of the opener as Minnesota got out to a 4-0 lead by the fourth inning. But the club couldn’t score the rest of the way.

The Braves will have an amazing opportunity to win this series tonight by starting their ace Chris Sale. The veteran lefty is still looking for his first win of the season though with a 0-2 record and a struggling 6.63 ERA. In his last start against Tampa Bay, Sale pitched 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs but struck out seven. Atlanta has lost three of four games that Sale has pitched so far this season. The Twins will try to take advantage of that and will counter with Simeon Woods Richardson. The righty is 1-1 with a 4.30 ERA, earning his first win of the season in his last start against the Detroit Tigers going five innings while only giving up one run.
