Rivalry Weekend ends with the Minnesota Twins on a white hot streak as they face off against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday.

There just seems to be no stopping the Minnesota Twins right now. After a slow start to the season, the Twins have completely turned it around as they go for their staggering 14th win in a row. The Brewers meanwhile are trying to avoid the sweep as they have lost four of their last five games. Despite winning 14 straight, the Twins are still back four games of the Detroit Tigers for first place in the AL Central where four teams are all above .500. Despite Minnesota’s impressive streak, Milwaukee is still the -160 favorite to win this series finale between these regional rivals. This series will shift to Minnesota about a month from now where it will play Milwaukee for the final time this season.

Not to mention, the Brewers have yet to score in this series with the Twins winning the opener 3-0 and winning the series after Game 2 in a 7-0 final. Pablo Lopez dominated the Brewers in the start improving to 4-2 while giving up just two hits in six shutout innings. The bullpen only gave up one hit the rest of the way. It was the Twins third consecutive shutout. Minnesota’s offense went off for 18 hits and were dominant from the get go with Ryan Jeffers hitting a solo shot in the first as part of a 4-for-5 night.

The Twins will try to keep it rolling by starting Zebby Matthews who will be making his season debut today after getting called up from Triple-A. He will replace Simeon Woods Richardson in the rotation who was sent down to the minors. Matthews debuted in 2024 in nine games with a 1-4 record and 6.69 ERA 37.2 innings pitched. The Brewers will have a good chance at avoiding the sweep by starting Freddy Peralta who is 4-3 with a 2.66 ERA.
