The Guardians find themselves just on the other side of the .500 mark with a 15-12 record heading into this week. They are the No. 2 team in the same division, 2.5 games behind the divisional-leading Tigers. After a postponed game on Friday, they split a double-header on Saturday and lost the series two games to one on Sunday with a 13-3 rout by Boston.

Bailey Ober will get the start for Minnesota in this series-opening game. The right-hander is 2-1 this season with a 5.04 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 25.0 total innings. He threw 6.0 innings in his last start against the Chicago White Sox. He allowed one earned run on eight hits with six strikeouts in a 4-2 victory.

Cleveland will start this series at home with Gavin Williams on the mound in the first inning. The right-hander is also 2-1 in his 2025 campaign with a 4.15 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 26.0 total innings. Williams took down the New York Yankees 6-4 in his last start. He pitched 6.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts.
