After struggling through a three-game losing skid over the weekend, the Cleveland Guardians have won to in a row as they wrap up their four-game mid-week series with the Minnesota Twins at Progressive Field on Thursday afternoon in a getaway day matinee between the AL Central Division rivals. The Twins will start right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson (2-2, 4.07 ERA) in his sixth outing of the season having alternated wins in losses in each of his last four starts as he looks for his first road win of the year. The Guardians will counter with veteran righty Ben Lively (1-2, 4.40 ERA) who has been inconsistent in his last five starts allowing exactly four earned runs three of his last five starts while posting five innings of shutout ball in the other two outings.

Guardians left fielder Steven Kwan leads Cleveland with his .322 batting average despite being held without a hit in his last two games after collecting at least one hit in 16 of his previous 17 outings. Kwan, in his fourth season in the majors, has collected 140 or more hits in each of his first three seasons and will make his 1,800^th career at bat when he steps in against Woods Richardson on Thursday afternoon. Kwan is 1-for-3 lifetime against Woods Richardson hitting a solo leadoff home run back in August of 2024.

With his team leading six home runs, Twins center fielder Byron Buxton is now just four homers away from his ninth career double-digit home run campaign and seventh consecutive season with 10 or more dingers posting a career high 28 back in 2022.

Cleveland has won seven of the last nine games in this series overall and nine of the last 11 meetings at home holding the Twins to two runs or less in six of those nine home wins.
