After winning both games of Wednesday’s doubleheader, the Minnesota Twins have now won 14 of their last 18 games including 10 in a row as they head into Thursday’s series finale aiming for a third straight series sweep and their second three-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles in the last nine days. Baltimore has lost 15 of their last 21 games and have dropped four in a row at home as they turn to veteran right hander Tomoyuki Sugano (4-2, 2.72 ERA) in search of his fourth win in his last six starts. The Twins will counter with righty Chris Paddack (1-3, 4.76 ERA) off his best outing of the year where he held the Giants to just one earned run over 7.1 innings of work on Friday.

Twins left fielder Harrison Bader leads the team hitting .300 this season and comes into this game with at least one hit in 14 of his last 15 games. Bader, a third-round pick by St. Louis in the 2015 MLB Draft, spent his first six seasons in the majors with the Cardinals before stints with the Yankees, Reds, and Mets before inking a one-year deal with Minnesota in February. Off a career-year with the Mets, Bader is on pace to shatter his career highs in hits, doubles, and RBIs and is now 14 RBIs away from 300 in his career.

Hitting his team-leading eighth home run of the year in Wednesday’s loss, Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins has posted a pair of two-hit efforts in his last three games and leads Baltimore in total bases and RBIs this season.

Baltimore had won 10 in a row against Minnesota dating back to 2023 but the Twins have won each of the first five meetings this season with all five victories coming by two or more runs.
