The Cincinnati Reds have been playing some of their best baseball of the season in recent weeks and will try to continue that stretch on Wednesday night against the Minnesota Twins.

Wednesday night’s MLB slate includes an Interleague game in the early window between the Minnesota Twins (36-36) and Cincinnati Reds (38-35) at Great American Ball Park. This is the middle game of a three-game series. On Tuesday night the Reds scored four runs in the fourth inning on their way to a 6-5 win, despite getting out-hit 8-5. Reds pitching struck out 11 Twins hitters in that game.

That win was the third in a row for the Reds and their eighth in their last 10 games. With this stretch the Reds have climbed back over .500 after being as many as four games under that mark a month ago and three under in early June. With a win on Wednesday, they’ll have won four series in a row while looking ahead at a divisional series against the St. Louis Cardinals this weekend.

On the other side is a Twins team trying to halt momentum in the other direction. After a strong month of May that included a 13-game winning streak, the Twins have leveled out, and have now lost five games in a row with Tuesday’s loss. Of those five, the last three were one-run losses including a 2-1 10-inning defeat at the hands of the Houston Astros on Sunday.
