Cole Ragans struck out 11 in six innings, allowing just four hits, as Kansas City took a 2-1 win over the Twins on Tuesday night. The Royals scored both of their runs on RBI groundouts, with Salvador Perez chasing home the first run of the game in the fourth and Vinnie Pasquantino driving in Bobby Witt Jr. in the eighth. Maikel Garcia is slashing .306/.342/.556 with a pair of home runs while Pasquantino has 10 RBI already.

Minnesota committed three errors defensively and was 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position, getting their lone tally in the fourth on Harrison Bader’s base hit. Lopez had fanned six and surrendered an unearned run before exiting. Neither Royal run was earned. Matt Wallner is slashing .294/.400/.471 for a Twins team hitting .199/.267/.314, while Bader has three home runs and 10 RBI.

Right-hander Seth Lugo takes the ball for Kansas City on Wednesday. He is 1-0 in two starts with a 3.27 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 11 innings and comes off a win over the Baltimore Orioles on Friday. Twins right-hander Joe Ryan is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 10 innings with 11 strikeouts and took the loss on Thursday against the Houston Astros.
