Minnesota won Game 2 and this series on Wednesday by a 6-3 final. The Twins gave up a 2-0 lead with Chicago scoring all of its runs in the fifth. Trevor Larnach got the lead back with a solo shot in the sixth and Byron Buxton added some insurance with a two-run homer in the seventh. It was a nice turnaround for Buxton as he was 0-for-4 coming into that at-bat with three strikeouts. Minnesota tied the game in the bottom of the fifth unphased by Chicago’s scoring spree when Brooks Lee hit a rope for an RBI-single driving home Ty France.

Chicago will try to turn its fortunes around and avoid this sweep by starting Shane Smith. The righty is 0-1 but has a 2.82 ERA. Smith got a no-decision in his last start against the Boston Red Sox where he gave up three runs in 4.2 innings. Despite a solid start to the season, Smith is still looking for his first win after four starts. Chris Paddack will go for the Twins who is 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA. The righty has also not earned a win in four starts but he pitched really well in his last start going five innings while only giving up three hits and a run against the Atlanta Braves.
