New York still leads the American League East, but Boston is right on its heels. The Yankees are trying to avoid losing three in a row today, while Cleveland is rolling, going for its sixth win in a row as the Guardians are now in first place in the AL Central. It is still going to be a very tough game for New York considering Cleveland is 7-1 at home to start the season.

The Guardians won Game 2 in a close game by a 3-2 final on Tuesday night. Tanner Bibee’s night did not start out at all how he wanted, giving up a homer to designated hitter Ben Rice on the very first pitch of the game. Bibee calmed down considerably though from there to get the win, going six innings, giving up five hits, and two earned runs. The Yankees scored on a sac fly in the sixth to go up 2-0, but their offense stalled out from there. That was right when the Guardians offense started to get going. Cleveland scored all of its runs in the bottom of the sixth. New York lost despite Aaron Judge going 4-for-4 in the game with three singles and a double. Judge now has the league best batting average of .411 after his 12th career four-hit game.
Cleveland will start Luis Ortiz with the sweep on the line. The righty is 2-2 with a 5.48 ERA after getting the win in his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates where he only gave up two runs in five innings and striking out eight. Carlos Rodon will be tasked with grabbing a win in this series. The lefty is 2-3 with a 4.34 ERA after his last start against the Tampa Bay Rays which was incredible. Rodon went six scoreless innings while only giving up two hits and striking out nine in an eventual 1-0 win.
