The best rivalry in sports is back on Saturday night for Game 2 of this series between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. This is the second series of the season between these long time AL East foes. These two played in the Bronx just last week where the Red Sox won the series 2-1. Boston picked up right where it left off in the opener at home on Friday beating the Yankees 2-1 in a very close game which went 10 innings. Despite the Red Sox leading the season series 3-1, the Yankees are the considerable -175 favorite even on the road to tie this series up on Saturday. Boston will be trying to win four in a row today while the loss yesterday for New York ended a three-game winning streak.

Boston earned its third straight win over New York on Friday in thrilling fashion with Carlos Narvaez hitting a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning. The Red Sox probably felt like they shoudn’t have even been in extra innings considering they held a 1-0 pretty much the entire game. But Aaron Judge changed all of that hitting a solo homer in the ninth to keep the Yankees alive. It cancelled out a brilliant start by Garrett Crochet who nearly pitched a complete game until Judge came to the plate. Crochet went 8.1 innings while only giving up four hits and one run while striking out seven. Ceddanne Rafaela was the only other run support of the night driving in a RBI single in the second.
Tonight’s probable starters will be Hunter Dobbins for the Red Sox who is 3-1 with a 4.20 ERA. The Yankees will have a great shot at bouncing back in this rivalry by starting Carlos Rodon who is 8-4 with a 2.87 ERA.
