How to Watch Yankees at Reds (June 23): Stream MLB Live, TV Channel

The New York Yankees will go for their third win in a row when they start this series against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.

The Cincinnati Reds host the New York Yankees for their only series this season, starting Monday night. New York will go for its third win in a row after a series win over the Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees are also trying to win four of their last five games. They’ll need to keep up the pressure, though, because they hold just a 2.5-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East. The Reds avoided a sweep at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend by winning the finale. The win ended a three-game losing streak for Cincinnati. The Yankees will be the -125 favorite even though they are visiting tonight.

New York won its rubber match 4-2 against the Orioles on Sunday afternoon to win the series. Baltimore scored all of its runs early in the top of the first inning. New York scored one in the second, but it didn’t score again until the eighth inning. It was a big rally, highlighted by Jazz Chisholm Jr., who hit a go-ahead two-run double. Will Warren settled down after a rocky first inning to go 6.1 innings, while giving up just the two runs. New York will look for another strong performance tonight when they start Allan Winans. That may be a lot to ask, though, because Winans is making his season debut tonight. New York placed Ryan Yarbrough on the IL, and Winans will take his place in the rotation. The righty played the last two seasons for the Atlanta Braves.

The Reds avoided getting swept by the Cardinals on Sunday by winning 4-1. Andrew Abbott had one of his best starts in a very prolific first half. Abbott improved to 7-1 after going seven innings, while just giving up one run and three hits. The lefty retired the final 18 batters he faced. This game was full of doubles for the Reds with Jose Trevino, Jake Fraley, and Elly De La Cruz grabbing two bags and scoring. Matt McLain hit a homer in the first inning to set the table. Cincinnati will start Nick Lodolo tonight, who is 5-5 with a 3.71 ERA.
