After weather washed away Spring Breakout for the Cubs in 2024, the North Siders will be sending a trio of Pipeline Top 100 prospects — righty Cade Horton (No. 51), catcher Moises Ballesteros (No. 68) and infielder James Triantos (No. 72) — for a pair of games this month.

This time last year, Christian Moore was in the early stages of a breakout junior year at Tennessee en route to Men’s College World Series victory and his selection as the No. 8 overall pick in the Draft. Now Moore is the club’s top prospect, ranked No. 67 overall, and will be the headliner for the Angels’ Spring Breakout roster.

Last year, Spring Breakout games were seven innings. This spring, they will be a full nine innings just like a normal Spring Training game according to mlb.com.

It continues that just like in Major League Spring Training this season, the Automated Ball-Strike Challenge system will be in use for games played in the five Florida State League venues (Bradenton, Fort Myers [Twins], Jupiter, Port St. Lucie, Tampa) and Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Each team will be able to challenge at least two ball-strike calls. A successful overturn gets the challenge returned to the club, and that continues until the club has two unsuccessful challenges.

    Regional restrictions may apply.
