The Brewers’ last time on the diamond was Monday against the Dodgers and resulted in a tough 4-3 defeat which was credited to Shane Drohan after giving up three earned runs in 3.2 innings. Greg Jones opened up the scoring for the Brewers with an RBI single in the bottom of the second to bring home David Hamilton. After the Dodgers tied it up, Jake Bauers hit his third home run of the season to regain the lead in the fifth. Ethan Murray brought in the team’s final run with an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth, but it was too little, too late and Milwaukee dropped to 8-9.

The Reds will look to carry momentum from a big 8-1 win over the Rockies on Tuesday into Wednesday’s game with the Brewers. TJ Friedl, Will Benson and P.J. Higgins each hit homers in the win to account for six of the team’s runs. Jose Trevino and Yerlin Confidan were responsible for the other two runs with RBI singles. Brandon Williamson earned his first win of the season with three innings of work in which he struck out three batters and only gave up one hit.

The Brewers and Reds have already met once during spring training and the game went in the Reds’ favor with a 9-7 win. They will meet twice more after Wednesday’s game before the regular season begins.
