The Diamondbacks will look to bounce back from a tough 13-4 loss to the Reds on Sunday which dropped them to 7-10 in Cactus League play. Shawn Dubin dropped to 1-1 with the loss after throwing for two innings and giving up two hits. LuJames Groover opened the DBacks scoring with an RBI double in the fourth and he followed that with a ground-rule double in the sixth to bring Ryan Waldschmidt home. Jordan Lawler blasted his third homer of the year to center field to bring home himself and Óscar Mercado to close out Arizona’s scoring.

The Mariners also suffered a loss on Sunday, falling 6-3 to the Brewers to drop to 4-11 in spring training play. Leo Rivas hit his second homer, a two-run shot to left field, to give the Mariners a 2-0 lead. By the bottom of the fifth, however, Milwaukee was up 6-2. Brennen Davis blasted a home run to center field, his fourth of the year, but that would be the final run either team scored, giving the win to Milwaukee. Troy Taylor took the loss on the mound, giving up three earned runs in 0.2 innings of work.

The Diamondbacks and Mariners have met once so far and the game resulted in a 3-1 win for Arizona. Monday’s game will be the last meeting between the two teams before the regular season begins at the end of the month.
