The White Sox are batting .181 as a team coming into this series after splitting two games with the Atlanta Braves. Chicago’s last game was postponed due to rain on Wednesday. The White Sox got their first win of the season on Tuesday in a 3-2 victory against Atlanta. Garrett Crochet pitched spectacularly going seven innings while only giving up three hits and one run. The game was tied in the ninth when Paul DeJong hit a tie-breaking home run that held up to upset one of the best teams in the league.

Kansas City is coming off a series loss to the Baltimore Orioles. In the rubber match on Wednesday, the Royals were up 3-0 in the bottom of the eighth. The Orioles scored two runs in the last two innings to pull off the rally. James McCann hit a two-out single to drive in two runs to walk off the game. It spoiled a great day from starter Cole Ragans who went 6.1 innings without giving up a run and only surrendering one hit.
Michael Soroka will get the start for Chicago tonight. This is the righty’s first year on the Southside after previously pitching for Atlanta for four seasons. Soroka is trying to prove himself again after going 7-6 last season with a 6.40 ERA. Seth Lugo will start for the Royals. The longtime Mets pitcher played with San Diego last season where he went 8-7 with a 3.57 ERA. Expect Lugo to be a great veteran addition in this young Royals rotation this year.
