Nashville FC also has a total of 27 points this season and is sitting just two spots ahead of the Crew with a record of 8-3-4. The team is undefeated over its last eight matches with the most recent being a 2-1 win over Toronto on Saturday. The first half was scoreless and the teams headed into the locker room to regroup. 12 minutes into the second half, Sam Surridge finished a ball in from Hany Mukhtar to put Nashville up 1-0. Surridge struck again with one minute remaining on the clock after Jonathan Perez found him in the box, making it a 2-0 game. In stoppage time, Toronto cut the lead in half, but time expired before a tying goal could be scored, allowing Nashville to add another three points to its tally and jump up a few spots in the standings.

Columbus has not won a game since May 3 and will look to get back on the winning side of things on Wednesday night. Nashville won’t make it easy, however, as the last time the teams met during preseason it resulted in a 4-1 victory for the Tennessee team.
