Christian Ramirez and the LA Galaxy will take on Jamar Ricketts and the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday night in MLS action.

The San Jose Earthquakes will travel to face the Los Angeles Galaxy on Wednesday in a Western Conference matchup at Dignity Health Sports Park. The Galaxy are still winless this season and bring a record of 0-4-11 into Wednesday’s contest for a total of four points, which has the team in last place in the Western Conference standings. The team’s most recent game was played against San Diego FC on Saturday and resulted in a tough 2-1 defeat. Diego Fagúndez opened the scoring in the 40th minute to give the Galaxy a 1-0 lead, but it was short lived, as San Diego countered just a minute later to make it a 1-1 game. The second half remained scoreless until stoppage time when the game-winning goal was scored in the waning seconds of play to give San Diego the win.

The Earthquakes have had much more success this season and are currently sitting in eighth place in the Western Conference standings with a record of 5-4-6 for a total of 19 points. Over the weekend, the team played the Houston Dynamo and the game resulted in a 3-3 draw. San Jose battled back from being down 2-0 to earn one point. The Dynamo took a 1-0 lead into the locker room and scored just five minutes into the second half to make it a 2-0 game. Preston Judd put San Jose on the board in the 66th minute and scored again six minutes later to tie things up. Daniel Munie added another goal four minutes later to give the Earthquakes the lead. With mere minutes remaining in the game, Houston was able to beat Earl Edwards Jr. in net to avoid the loss.

The Earthquakes and the Galaxy have not met since 2024 and the game resulted in a 2-1 win for Los Angeles in Leagues Cup play. The teams met four times in 2024 and the Galaxy won each of the matches. Tune in Wednesday night to see if the Galaxy can keep that win streak going and pick up its first victory of 2025.
