The Australian motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. Since 1997, the race has been run at the scenic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit south-southeast of Melbourne, Victoria. Last year, the MotoGP class was won by the Spaniard Marc Márquez who was riding for Ducati. This year, however, marks the first time in 98 GPs that there is no Ducati on the front row of the grid. Not only was it a new pole sitter at Phillip Island, but the whole front row from the 2024 race was missing. A year ago the Ducatis of Jorge Martin and Marquez lined up alongside Aprilia’s Maverick Viñales and now, all three Spaniards are at home recovering from injuries.
