Connor Mosack claims his 1st career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series pole for Saturday’s Fr8 208 at Atlanta

Connor Mosack, in his first season as a full-time driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, earned his first career pole position on Friday ahead of Saturday’s Fr8 208 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. Mosack was the lone driver to break the 32-second mark in qualifying and will start inside of Grant Enfinger on the front row on Saturday afternoon. Atlanta Motor Speedway opened in 1960 and the truck series returned to the track in 2015 after being on the schedule from 2004-12.

Kyle Busch, last year’s winner at Atlanta, will start ninth while Corey Heim, who won the season opening race at Daytona last weekend, qualified 19th. Defending series champion Ty Majeski opens from the 12th position. Daniel Hemric and Rajah Caruth open on Row 2, with Jack Wood and Jake Garcia on the third row. Tyler Ankrum and Stewart Friesen make up Row 4, while Busch and two-time truck series champion Ben Rhodes round out the top 10 starters.

Atlanta Motor Speedway is a 1.540-mile quad oval since the track was reconfigured in 1997, with the banking in the turns increased to 28 degrees in 2022. Busch is a five-time winner of the race, with Ron Hornaday Jr. winning it twice. Busch held off Majeski by 0.187 seconds to take the checkered flag last February.

Heim got the win at Daytona last week after apparant winner Parker Kligerman was disqualified after his truck failed the post-race inspection for its ride height being too low. Giovanni Ruggiero finished second in his Truck Series debut.
