The final race in the Round of 12 heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway in Roval for the Bank of America ROVAL 400.

With just one race remaining in the Round of 12 every driver in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs is looking for a lane to advance. None of the drivers still in the running have won either of the first two races in this round. Those wins went to Ross Chastain and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the first two races of this round. If one of the current 12 drivers remains in the playoffs, they will punch their ticket to the Round 8 which starts next week. Current points leader William Byron (3,122 points) is already locked into the next round with his current lead over the field. He is mathematically set to advance regardless of the results in this race.

Christopher Bell (3,105 points) and Kyle Larson (3,100 points) both have history on their sides. Only two times in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs have drivers come back from 50-plus point deficits, which is what they have on the drivers who are sitting in positions nine through 12 heading into this race.

The rest of the current field in the top eight in points are Denny Hamlin (3,078 points), Alex Bowman (3,074 points), Ryan Blaney (3,073 points), Tyler Reddick (3,062 points) and Chase Elliott (3,061 points). Two of those drivers, Blaney in 2018 and Elliott in 2019, are the only cases in the history of the playoffs to close 50-plus point gaps in the standings.

Joey Logano (3,048 points), Daniel Suarez (3,041 points), Austin Cindric (3,032 points) and Chase Briscoe (3,029 points) are all on the hot seat heading into the third and final race of the Round of 12 this weekend.
