The last time the Cup Series was in action was at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400. Kyle Larson won that race, followed by Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell and Bubba Wallace.
Coming into this race, Larson holds a 10-point lead over teammate Chase Elliott in the regular season standings. Larson, who has four wins, is also currently the No. 1 seed in the playoff battle.
In the battle for the final playoff spots, Chris Buescher sits 15th, 17 points ahead of the cut line, and Ross Chastain sits 16th, seven points ahead of Bubba Wallace. Realistically, the battle is between Chastain and Wallace for the final spot unless a driver 18th or lower in points gets a victory.
