Justin Allgaier won last week in New Hampshire and kept it rolling in qualifying for the Explore The Pocono Mountains 225, taking the pole for Saturday’s race at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. Ty Gibbs will start outside the front row as the two winningest drivers in the Xfinity Series this season lead the field.

With eight races remaining in the Xfinity Series regular season, Gibbs has four wins and Allgaier claimed three checkered flags. But Allgaier has the momentum as all three of his victories have come in the last eight races.
AJ Allmendinger, Noah Gragson, Josh Berry, Austin Hill and Brandon Jones have also secured playoff spots with wins this season, contingent upon them starting all 26 regular-season races.
Austin Cindric, now a regular on the NASCAR Cup Series, won at Pocono last year, clipping Gibbs by 0.331 seconds.
Pocono Raceway is dubbed “The Tricky Triangle” because of its triangular shape. The 2.5-mile asphalt layout has three turns of varied banking.
