Jesse Love returns to defend his 2025 series title after winning at Daytona last year in the rebranded NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series

The renamed NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, formerly the NASCAR Xfinity Racing Series, returns to action on Saturday night for the United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Last year, Jesse Love took the checkered flag at Daytona to jumpstart his run to the series championship in just his second season on the circuit. Qualifying for the race was held earlier in the day on Saturday. The series, like the others in NASCAR’s national circuits, will return to The Chase format to determine a champion, with 12 drivers competing in the final nine races for the title.

Love led the final 18 laps last year, winning in overtime under caution ahead of Sam Mayer for the first of his two victories last season, winning again in the series championship race to close out the campaign and beat out Connor Zilisch for the title. After taking the pole, Justin Allgaier faded back to 18th place in the 2025 season opener.

Five rookies join the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series for the 2026 seasons, including Rajah Caruth, Corey Day, Brent Crews, Lavar Scott and Patrick Staropoli. Zilisch moved up to the NASCAR Cup Series this year while Daniel Dye and Christian Eckes returned to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series after running full-time on the Xfinity circuit a season ago.

Austin Hill won the Daytona event three straight years from 2022-24 and will be back in the field. Dale Earnhardt and Tony Stewart each won seven times in the second-tier circuit Daytona race.
